Punchdrunk is an award-winning theatre company, specializing in the immersive experience of unexpected locations and dramatic, non-linear, textless narrative. Punchdrunk's work is usually presented on an epic scale, staged inside vast, empty buildings transformed into the world of the performance. Our work is esssentially textless - the core performing company is an ensemble of exciting and experienced performers who are inspired by non-traditional performance spaces.
Punchdrunk's unique choreographic and performance style requires committed, versatile dancers with strong improvisation, choreographic and devising skills.
The company is creating a new site-based work to start rehearsal in September 2010 (opening end of November 2010). As an apprentice dancer with the company, you will be involved in an intensive choreographic process in which you will develop an individual performance role. As a company, the dancers' creative process begins in a studio and then continues in an epic and beautifully designed building. The building becomes your partner in the creative process.
