London, uk • 2006 - 2007

Presented by Punchdrunk and the National Theatre.

Now hast thou but one bare hour to live and then thou must be damned perpetually.

An epic journey into the heaven and hell of Faust's legendary downfall, Faust transformed an eerie 150,000 square foot former archive into a dreamlike landscape of the deep south. This major production enjoyed a 6-month sold out run of 119 performances, playing to an audience of almost 30,000.

Punchdrunk's Faust was nominated for the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Most Promising Newcomer and won the Critics Circle Theatre Award 2006 for Best Designer.

"This is one of the most astonishing events, not just in the theatre, but in the whole of London."

Susannah Clapp, The Observer

"Allusive and serendipitous, this is a fiendishly clever telling of a familiar tale."

 Clifford Bishop, The Sunday Times

"A theatrical spellbinder."
