Following the success of the sold out masterclass programme in 2017, Punchdrunk is now offering performance practice and design workshops at Fallow Cross, Punchdrunk’s village in Tottenham Hale, London, throughout Autumn 2018.

This one day performance practice workshop will draw on elements of Punchdrunk’s core creative processes when devising in response to site. Working at Fallow Cross, the Punchdrunk village, the day will focus on physical practice delving into exercises which aim to develop the performer’s sensitivity to space and explore performance in relation to narrative and character. Through games, task-based improvisations, and creating journeys through a designed space, participants will gain an insight into Punchdrunk’s devising process. 

This workshop is open to everyone regardless of experience.

During this one day design workshop participants will explore the village of Fallow Cross through a series of practical exercises to gain an insight into Punchdrunk’s design practice in response to site and stories. Participants will discover how Punchdrunk’s design teams create epic, multisensory and detailed worlds and will be given the opportunity to transform spaces of their own. This workshop is open to everyone regardless of experience.

Led by Punchdrunk designers Maito jobbe Duval and Jess Banting this weekend masterclass is an opportunity for individuals who are working as designers and artists, across all artforms, to learn more about design for immersive and site specific theatre. The Punchdrunk village of Fallow Cross will be a playground in which participants will explore the principals of Punchdrunk’s design practice. This masterclass is appropriate for those who have not yet attended a design workshop at Fallow Cross.

This masterclass is for artists, practitioners and theatre makers who are interested in learning more about Punchdrunk’s approach to making work for young audiences. Working with Punchdrunk creatives, participants will explore the essence of how to build an immersive narrative with specific learning objectives or outcomes and empowering young people to awaken their own creativity. The workshop will be led by Director of Enrichment Peter Higgin and Associate Enrichment Director Tara Boland.

This masterclass is for actors and performers looking to develop their skills as a workshop facilitator. Participants will explore Punchdrunk Enrichment’s methods and approaches to creating and delivering workshops as well as how these skills apply to interactive performance.

Participants will:

  • Play games and exercises to explore the key principles of facilitation

  • Work through exercises to introduce Punchdrunk Enrichment’s performance style

  • Develop a game or exercise in reaction to an immersive space and narrative

The workshop will be led by Associate Enrichment Director Tara Boland.
