Under the eiderdown
PRIMARY SCHOOL PROJECT • january 2009 - february 2014
Enter the world of Weevil’s Bric-a-Brac shop, a magical place where every object is straight out of a child’s imagination, a place where every object tells a thousand stories...
Inspired by the book Who Are You, Stripy Horse?, Under The Eiderdown was a primary school project that aimed to develop children's speech, language and communication skills through engagement with a story in an extraordinary environment.
Punchdrunk Enrichment transformed an area in each school into the world of a chosen story, creating a completely immersive storytelling environment for pupils and staff to experience. Pupils embraced a magical environment in the heart of their school that inspired and ignited their imaginations.
Under The Eiderdown was created in 2009 in collaboration with six primary schools in Lewisham. The project has visited 30 schools in Lewisham, Mertson, Islington, Tower Hamlets and Croydon, reaching over 10,000 pupils and 600 teachers.
Punchdrunk Enrichment produced an evaluation document about the impact the project had on pupils and teachers. You can read this report here.
